Creating Sampling Plans

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
  2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
  3. In the Inspection Management section, click Sampling Plan.
    Result: The Sampling Plans window is displayed.
  4. At the top of the page, click the Add New Record link.
    Result: The Sampling Plan entry window is displayed.
  5. Enter the information in the following fields:
Field Description

Sampling Plan*

Enter the code of the sampling plan.

Sampling Plan Name*

Enter the name of the sampling plan.

AQL

Click the drop down button and select the Acceptance Quality Limit. Acceptance Quality Limits (AQLs) are the quality measurements for maximum numbers of defects that a manufacturer can tolerate.

Lot Size for AQL

Click the Add Lot Code link to add a lot code to the selected AQL. A customized lot code for an AQL is set to specify the number of samples that must be accepted or can be rejected per lot in order for the inspection to change to a different state.

  • Minimum Lot Size - Click the up and down arrows to specify a customized minimum lot size for the Acceptance Quality Limit.
  • Maximum Lot Size - Click the up and down arrows to specify a customized maximum lot size for the Acceptance Quality Limit.
  • Sample Size - Click the up and down arrows to specify a customized sample size for the Acceptance Quality Limit.
  • Acceptance Number - Click the up and down arrows to specify a customized acceptable quantity for the Acceptance Quality Limit.
  • Rejection Number - Click the up and down arrows to specify a customized reject quantity for the Acceptance Quality Limit.
  1. Click the Save button.
    Result: The new sampling plan has been added and the detail of the sampling plan is displayed.
